As a former foster youth from a rural, multicultural background, Jade has faced immense challenges, including learning disabilities and family instability. Despite navigating the impacts of addiction and violence within her family, Jade has become the first in her family to graduate high school, earn an associate’s degree, and now complete her BA. She has managed to achieve all of this while coping with a disability and supporting herself after losing her job due to nonprofit funding cuts. Now, she is focused on healing and aims to build independence while giving back through a future career in psychology.

Jade is working hard to build stability and create a safe, supportive environment as she moves forward with her goals. An important part of that journey is Nyla, her emotional support cat, who provides comfort and companionship during challenging times. A cat tree would give Nyla a dedicated space to climb, rest, and play, helping keep her active and comfortable while protecting furniture in Jade's home. More importantly, it would support the well-being of an animal that plays a meaningful role in Jade's daily life and emotional wellness. Having a durable cat tree would help Jade create a more stable, pet-friendly home environment where both she and Nyla can thrive together.
