Alex spent one year in the foster care system before being reunited with his biological mother. Unfortunately, Alex recently had to re-enter foster care after it was determined that his mother was unable to meet his needs due to ongoing alcohol misuse and concerns about her ability to provide appropriate care. Alex is a quiet and shy youth who typically takes time to become comfortable in new environments and with new people. He is a loving, playful child who enjoys making people laugh. He is quickly learning English and goes out of his way to be friendly with everyone he meets. Alex enjoys playing with his toys and likes to stay close to his caregivers. Despite his language barrier, Alex is gentle, patient, and thoughtful with others, including other children.

Alex enjoys playing outside and participating in outdoor activities, which help him relax and build confidence. Providing Alex with a bicycle with training wheels would support his physical, emotional, and social development. Riding a bike would encourage regular outdoor play and physical activity, which aligns with his interest in spending time outside. The training wheels would allow Alex to build confidence while learning a new skill at a safe and comfortable pace. Having his own bike would also provide opportunities for positive recreation, increase his independence, and promote healthy self-esteem as he achieves new milestones.
