Mary is a young mother who came to this country and entered foster care at the age of 16. Her son still lives in her native country, and she misses him dearly. They regularly FaceTime, allowing her to stay connected with him. Currently, she is part of the extended foster care program and is actively learning the English language. Mary remains hopeful that she will reunite with her son one day, and she aspires to become a surgeon in the future.

Mary is entering her senior year of high school with determination and hope. Although she is behind academically, she is excited to finish her final year strong and graduate. One of her biggest concerns as the school year approaches is that she no longer has clothes that fit after recently losing a significant amount of weight. She is hoping to receive a TJ Maxx gift card before school begins so she can purchase a few shirts and pairs of pants that fit properly. Having clothes she feels comfortable and confident in would help her start her senior year with confidence and focus on achieving her goals.
