Benjamin is a bright, resilient little boy who has experienced more than any child should. He entered foster care with his younger brother due to parental substance abuse, neglect, and domestic violence in the home. The boys were initially placed with relatives, but the placement was unable to meet their emotional and developmental needs, leading them to be placed in another foster care. Benjamin is a caring big brother who loves spending time with his younger brother playing, exploring, and simply being a kid whenever he has the opportunity. Because of inconsistent school attendance before entering care, Benjamin has fallen behind academically and is working hard to catch up. He also struggles with emotional regulation and can become overwhelmed when he is frustrated or upset, often shutting down or reacting with big emotions. With patience, consistency, and support from his foster family, Benjamin continues to make progress each day.

Benjamin often talks about playing PlayStation games with his dad before entering foster care. Those memories remain very special to him, and he frequently asks if he can have a PlayStation of his own. While it may seem like just a gaming system, to Benjamin it represents happy moments he remembers sharing with someone he loves. Receiving a PlayStation would bring him comfort, excitement, and a sense of familiarity while helping him create new positive memories with his foster family. Benjamin would be able to create new memories, build new problem-solving skills, and make memories with his brother and foster family.
