Grace Retreat Foster Care and Adoption Services

Damien entered foster care alongside his older brother after experiencing parental substance abuse, neglect, and domestic violence in the home. The boys were first placed with relatives, but because of their ongoing emotional and developmental needs, they eventually transitioned into a regular foster care home. Damien is a sweet, energetic little boy with a big imagination and an even bigger heart. He loves spending time with his older brother and looks up to him in so many ways. As he prepares to start school this year, his foster family is excited for this new chapter while also recognizing that he may need extra support after missing important developmental opportunities early in life. Damien is still working on potty training and is learning healthy ways to express his feelings and regulate his emotions. With encouragement, structure, and love, he continues to grow and reach new milestones.

As Damien prepares to begin school, an iPad would provide valuable educational opportunities while also giving him access to age-appropriate games, books, and activities that support his learning and development. It would also offer him safe entertainment during downtime and long appointments. This gift would encourage both learning and play while supporting Damien as he reaches important developmental milestones.
