MO DSS Children's Division - Shannon CountyWyatt is a smart young man who will soon be starting his first day of college. He has been in foster care for three years, following the death of his mother, and he has no other family available to take him in. Wyatt excelled in high school and graduated this past May. He plans to major in Business Law and Finance and hopes to work for a law firm someday, with the goal of becoming an attorney in the future.
Wyatt has worked diligently throughout his high school career to prepare for college, seizing every opportunity to secure scholarships and financial assistance for his tuition. The only thing he lacks is a laptop; while he has a tablet he can use if necessary, having a laptop would greatly benefit him and enable him to utilize the software required for his courses. Although he usually doesn’t ask for things, he has made this request because he realizes that not having a laptop could put him at a disadvantage from the start. Since he plans to live with his foster family instead of on campus, he will have to rely on their transportation schedule, which may limit his access to the campus library when he needs to use a computer.
