Mikey was recently adopted by his sister! He is the youngest sibling and has had a number of medical challenges throughout his life. Mikey has had a brain and spinal malformation, and he has spent a lot of time in occupational, physical, and speech therapy to help him meet his developmental milestones and keep up in school. Mikey has grown so much over the years and is so sweet and respectful. He loves Legos, video games, and helping care for his baby nieces.

Mikey is really excited about starting the new school year, especially because all of his friends have been chatting about shopping for back-to-school clothes and shoes. This is an opportunity he's never had before. Typically, he gets his clothes from the local foster closet, which, unfortunately, doesn’t provide new shoes. This time, he’s hopeful that he can get a brand-name pair that will help him fit in with his classmates. The thought of having something new and stylish makes him feel optimistic about the upcoming school year.
