Patricia is an energetic, friendly youth who has made big progress during her time in foster care, but continues to struggle with her speech and social functioning. Patricia is diagnosed with ADHD and adjustment disorder, and is receiving services from her school for special education. Patricia was in foster care for 3 years in Kentucky prior to coming to Ohio, where she has been in foster care for over 3 years. She is currently in the process of being adopted by her current foster family, where her sister is also placed. Patricia has blossomed during her time in foster care. Although Patricia can be shy in new situations, she likes to please and is willing to try to help someone. She likes to play with peers and is very helpful with the animals. Patricia in particular loves music and being creative.

A few of the other kids in the home have tablets of their own that help with their learning, speech, and developmental functioning. Having a tablet will support Patricia's self-paced learning and serve as a powerful tool for creative expression. This will transform passive screen time into an active, engaging experience that builds essential school and life skills. She will also have programs that assist with her speech and language development and help her self-regulate.
