After spending four years in foster care, Kayla learned the power of perseverance and strong support systems. She is currently studying to become a medical assistant, with long-term goals of graduating, starting her own urgent care, and opening an assisted living facility. While she deeply appreciates the friends who have guided her along the way, she hopes to see more community programs and events for foster youth in the future. In her free time, Kayla enjoys gardening, reading, cooking, line dancing, and spending quality time with loved ones.

Kayla works extremely hard in school to become a registered medical assistant. To help clear her mind and focus on her passions, she dreams of starting a fruit and vegetable garden so she can eventually share fresh produce with her friends and family.
