Just as she is preparing to start a new school year, she has once again been moved and is now living in a group home. With so many transitions, she has had to adapt and keep going without her family by her side. Jessamine wants a new, stylish pair of sneakers to help her feel confident as she starts the school year at a new school where she doesn’t know anyone. After being placed all around for the past year and now moving into a group home, she is hoping for a fresh start. Having sneakers that are fashionable and fit in with what other students are wearing could help her feel less different and more comfortable around her new classmates. More than just shoes, they would give Jessamine a small boost of confidence as she tries to fit in and build a new life in an unfamiliar place.
