The Friends of Foster CareTyler spent the majority of his teenage years in foster care, moving through several placements before aging out and stepping into independent adulthood. He's now enrolled part-time at a community college, working toward a degree in computer science while holding down a job at a local restaurant to cover his expenses. Tyler is analytical and driven, spending his free time building and modding computers, gaming with a close circle of online friends, and teaching himself to code through tutorials. He's naturally reserved but opens up quickly once he trusts someone, and he takes pride in figuring things out on his own, a skill he's had to develop out of necessity. Tyler has faced real instability and had to grow up without the safety net many of his peers had, but he's focused and determined to build a career and life that are entirely his own.
Between his community college classes and his restaurant job, Tyler's schedule is packed, and quick, easy meals are often a necessity rather than a treat. A McDonald's gift card would give him a break from the routine, letting him grab a favorite meal without worrying about the cost eating into his tight budget. It's a small, simple gift, but for a young man who is managing every expense on his own, it means one less thing to stretch for.
