In her young life, Corrine witnessed repeated domestic violence between her mother and her mother's boyfriend, fueled by addiction. Because of this, she and her half-brother were removed from their mother's care and placed in foster care over a year ago. Corrine later faced another painful loss when her half-brother was reunited with his father, separating the two siblings. Despite everything, Corrine has remained in the same foster home since her removal, one that has given her a safe, loving place to land. She loves riding her bike and has a natural artistic streak, always looking for ways to create. That creativity led her to discover a real gift for sewing, something that began when her favorite stuffed animal got a hole and needed mending. Now old enough for 4-H, Corrine and her foster family are exploring the opportunity together.

Corrine is an artistic, creative girl who loves making and fixing things. Her love of sewing began when her favorite stuffed animal needed mending, and no one in her foster home knew how to fix it. Her CASA stepped in, teaching her the basics and giving her scrap fabric, needles, and thread to get started. From there, Corrine's talent took off; she went from making doll clothes out of paper to sewing them from real fabric, and has since repaired toys for her foster siblings and mended her own clothing along the way. Now, Corrine needs a sewing machine so she can keep building on the skill she's taken such pride in. Sewing is a valuable life skill she can carry with her, one that lets her create, repair, and help the people around her.
