New clothes and sneakers for Jimmy who wants to start the school year feeling good about himself

Jimmy, 15 years old, NJ | clock-icon NEEDED BY 09/18

CASA of South-Central New Jersey

Jimmy has been in foster care for three years following the termination of his mother’s parental rights, and he is now legally free for adoption. Jimmy is a quiet and polite young man who can struggle with confidence, making friends, and navigating peer relationships. He has an IEP and benefits from additional support at school. Jimmy has experienced bullying and difficulty with peer interactions, which at times has led to poor choices, as he sometimes struggles to socialize and fit in. Jimmy enjoys being in the band, playing the drums, and playing basketball.

Jimmy is eager to work, be independent, and earn his own money, just like a lot of kids his age. He's actively looking for a job and regularly checks in with his support team about it, taking real initiative in wanting to provide for himself. He also takes pride in his appearance and would love some new, name-brand clothing and sneakers that actually feel current and in style. His foster parent does their best to provide for him, but many of the hand-me-downs Jimmy's had have simply been outgrown. A new wardrobe and pair of shoes would mean more than clothes that fit right. It would give Jimmy a real boost of confidence, help him feel more at ease among his peers, and let him start the school year feeling good about who he is.
