A phone charger for Serena who needs a working phone to coordinate rides and stay connected to her brother
Serena, 15 years old, CA
Wish submitted by:
CA DCFS - Los Angeles CountySerena is in high school and was recently placed in the foster care system, navigating a lot of change all at once. For the first time, she's away from her mother and brother, adjusting to a new home while also working to stabilize her mental health after such a significant transition. Despite everything she's managing, Serena stays focused on school and on taking care of herself, with her sights set on graduating high school and going on to college.
Serena's phone dies within minutes of being unplugged, which causes real problems day-to-day. Most importantly, it's her main way of staying connected to her brother, one of the few consistent connections she has left after such a big transition. It's also how she contacts her assigned driver for school pickup and drop-off, so a working, charged phone is essential for her to get to school and safely back to placement. A portable charger would solve both problems at once, keeping her connected to her brother and making sure she's never stuck without a way to get home.
