Ricky has faced many tough challenges in his life. He entered the child welfare system after suffering physical abuse from his mother, who was also caught up in a cycle of domestic violence. This put Ricky and his siblings in a precarious situation, especially when their mother left them in the care of their father, a man with a troubling criminal background and a history of drug abuse. When their father lost custody after his abusive behavior surfaced, Ricky and his siblings were re-detained. Despite all this turmoil, Ricky has not let his circumstances define him. He graduated from high school and is excited to start technical school to pursue his dream of becoming an electrician. He has his own apartment and works diligently as an Uber Eats driver, showing incredible resilience and determination as he pursues his goals.

Ricky is a non-minor dependent living independently, managing the responsibilities of adulthood while also working hard to build a future for himself. He recently started vocational school to become an electrician, a real step toward a stable, skilled career. However, balancing a job and school on his own hasn't left much room in his budget for basic school supplies and clothing. Something as simple as the right supplies for class and clothes that fit and feel presentable can make a real difference in how Ricky shows up each day. Having these essentials would help ease some of the financial pressure he's managing on his own, letting him walk into school and work with a little more confidence and one less thing weighing on him as he works toward this new career.
