Melanie is a spunky kid who loves being the center of attention and playing with her older siblings. She's into skateboarding, soccer, and drawing, and she comes from a single parent home where money is often tight. Even so, she pitches in by making her own bed and doing her own laundry, and she's got a laugh that's impossible not to catch.

Sophia is a smart girl who genuinely enjoys school, but connecting with kids her own age hasn't come easy for her. Between the weight of her past experiences and the fact that she's outgrown most of her clothes, Sophia often feels like she doesn't quite fit in, even before she has the chance to. As the weather turns colder, having warm clothes that actually fit would mean more than just staying comfortable this fall and winter.
