Shamaj is a kind and caring young man. His father was recently incarcerated and he is having a very hard time not having a father figure with him at home. His mother is a single mom trying her best to make ends meet.

Shamaj is excited about the new semester and looks forward to a great year at his Christian college. As part of the school's requirements, he's expected to attend chapel every week dressed in a suit, but that's an expense that isn't always easy to manage on top of everything else that comes with starting a new semester. Having a proper suit would let Shamaj meet that requirement with confidence, walking into the chapel each week feeling prepared rather than worrying about whether he's meeting expectations.
