Naomi, along with her family, left home suddenly to escape domestic violence, leaving nearly all of their belongings behind. Through it all, she has been a steady presence for her family, always pitching in to help care for her younger siblings, and almost always with a smile on her face. After a period of uncertainty, the family has recently moved into safe housing, a real turning point. Naomi is now starting over and rebuilding a sense of normalcy and routine in her new space.

Naomi requested a laptop of her own. School has been one of the few constants through everything her family has faced, and she is determined to keep up with it. A laptop would give her a reliable way to complete assignments, study, and stay on track at home, one less obstacle between Naomi and the future she's working toward.
