Kindred Spirit Behavioral HealthGage has faced more challenges than most at a young age. He entered foster care at just 8 years old due to his mother’s substance use and was unable to receive the care he needed. Over the years, he moved from home to home, eventually being placed in a group home where he spent several years trying to find stability. After aging out of the system at 18 without family support, Gage experienced homelessness. Despite these hardships, he remained determined. He found a sense of safety when a young woman and her family opened their garage to give him a place to stay.Through it all, Gage has shown resilience and motivation. He secured a job and is actively working to finish school by enrolling in online classes.
Gage has recently been offered a travel trailer as a place to stay, and he is working to make the space functional and comfortable. Starting with very few household essentials, he still needs basic items to prepare meals for himself. A new set of pots and pans would give him the ability to cook at home, helping him save money while he works toward greater stability and independence. This practical gift would serve as an everyday necessity as he transforms his new space into a home.
