Jerimiah has been in foster care for several years after being removed from his grandmother's custody. This decision was made following a domestic violence incident that resulted in his grandmother being hospitalized. Before living with his grandmother, Jerimiah was taken from his parents due to instances of sexual abuse and violence in that home. Currently, he is in a placement where he is focusing on his mental health and behavioral challenges.

Jerimiah is in residential treatment and wants his own Pokémon cards, a set of 50 that includes a rare card he can look forward to discovering. Pokémon cards offer a familiar, enjoyable hobby he can do independently or share with others. They also encourage social interaction, strategy, decision-making, and organization. Having a collection of his own would give Jerimiah a positive recreational activity to focus on, along with a genuine sense of personal ownership and something exciting to look forward to and work toward.
