Jay Jay is a beautiful little girl who is always happy despite her family dynamics. She is the youngest of 4 children, and her mother is a temporary single parent. Jay Jay's dad is in prison but will be home at the end of 2027. Jay Jay was very close to her dad and struggles sometimes because of his absence. She's still a beautiful, spirited kid.

Jay Jay's mom is a hardworking single parent managing everything on her own while her husband is incarcerated. She did what she could to get Jay Jay ready for school, but she has already outgrown most of what her mom could find, and between high food costs and overwhelming utility bills, there's little room left in the budget for more. Right now, Jay Jay needs new clothes, shoes, socks, and underwear, and it's weighing on her mom, who feels the pressure of not being able to give her daughter what she needs. To make things harder, classmates have begun teasing Jay Jay because of it. A trip to Walmart for the basics would ease that burden for her mom and help Jay Jay walk into school feeling comfortable and confident again.
