She has had a long journey; her parents recently relinquished their rights, and she has now found her forever home. Her adoptive family is eager to provide her with the stability she craves. Mika's smile is infectious, and you can't help but feel happy when you're around her.
At just 3 years old, Mika is preparing for surgery to correct esotropia, and in the meantime, her doctor has asked her mom to patch her eye for 14 hours a week to help in the lead-up. For a toddler, sitting still with a patch on isn't easy, and Mika struggles to leave hers alone, which means going through patches faster than expected. While a single box isn't especially expensive on its own, needing two boxes of 100 patches to get through this stretch adds up quickly, especially on top of everything else that comes with preparing for a child's surgery. Having enough patches on hand would take one real financial pressure off Mika's mom during an already stressful and uncertain time.
