Independence High SchoolNiya is in high school and is navigating a lot of different losses. Since her grandmother died recently, she has been navigating the household by herself and supporting herself with minimal help from extended family. She is an amazing artist and she loves drawing. She also loves cats and is interested in graphic design.
Niya is trying to hold everything together right now, showing up for school while also searching for a job just to cover groceries and the basics she needs day to day. All of this comes on top of readjusting to life after losing her grandmother, who had been a steady source of support for her. Without consistent access to groceries, it becomes even harder for Niya to stay focused in school, keep up her energy, and manage the emotional weight she's already carrying. Support toward groceries at FoodCo would give her something reliable to count on, easing one real source of daily stress and giving her the stability she needs to keep showing up for herself, in school and in life, during an especially difficult time.
