Jewel has recently aged out of foster care and is currently enrolled in a local state college, where she is majoring in art. She has faced numerous challenges, including the recent loss of her mother and periods of homelessness. Despite these hardships, Jewel is determined to achieve her goals and graduate from college. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, drawing, and listening to music.

This young mother recently aged out of foster care and is working incredibly hard to create a safe and stable life for herself and her newborn baby. She has secured a place of her own and is working to provide for her child, but she urgently needs a reliable cell phone. As a new mother living independently, having a dependable phone is essential to her and her baby’s safety and well-being. She relies on a phone to schedule and attend her baby’s medical appointments, arrange transportation, communicate with her employer, get to work, stay connected with service providers, and call for help in an emergency. Her current phone is unreliable and cannot consistently hold a charge, leaving her without a dependable way to communicate when she needs it most. A newer iPhone would provide her with a critical lifeline and the reliable communication she needs to maintain her housing and employment, care for her newborn, and continue building a stable future for her family.
