Kathie entered the foster care system when she was 13 years old and spent a lot of time in group homes. She was homeless when she aged out but never gave up her dream of being independent, having a home of her own, and perhaps becoming a singer. Kathie has a lovely voice and has sung at different community events as well as volunteered at functions to give back to the community. Her dream has shifted somewhat as she now has a 3-year-old daughter and a son on the way. She just recently moved into her own apartment and is concentrating on making it a great home for the children.

Kathie enjoys vlogging and finding creative ways to capture the moments and experiences she wants to remember and share. One of the challenges of filming herself is constantly having to set up her camera, get into position, and then go back to retrieve it. Kathie would love a HOVERAir X1 camera drone that can follow along and capture her journey and adventures more naturally. This gift would give her the freedom to have more fun with something she already enjoys while exploring her creativity and creating videos from a whole new perspective.
