Mikaila left foster care at 18 and has worked incredibly hard to build a stable, independent life. Despite the challenges she has faced, she has remained determined to create a better future and has taken meaningful steps toward achieving her goals. For more than six months, Mikaila experienced housing instability and has been couch surfing while working to support herself. She currently works two jobs and has kept pushing forward despite not having a stable home. After working so hard to get to this point, Mikaila has finally been approved for her own apartment, a major milestone toward the independence and security she has been working toward.

Since leaving foster care, Mikaila has worked incredibly hard to build a life for herself. For more than six months, she has been couch surfing while holding down two jobs to support herself. Through all of that uncertainty, she has kept pushing forward, and her determination has paid off. Mikaila has been approved for her own apartment, a major milestone on the road to the independence and security she has been working toward. However, she still doesn't have enough savings to cover the full deposit needed to move in. Without help, she could lose this opportunity and continue facing the uncertainty of not having a place to call home. With part of her deposit covered, Mikaila can move into a safe apartment of her own, keep her jobs, and keep saving. Having a stable home would give her the foundation she needs to keep moving forward and focus on building the independent life she has fought so hard for.
