Fostering Great Ideas

Cory has been in foster care since the age of 13 and has experienced several transitions between group homes and foster placements. Most recently, Cory lost housing and stability and is staying with his uncle as he adjusts to a new area. Cory remains a positive and resilient young person who tries to find the good in every situation. He has a genuine curiosity about the world around him and enjoys discovering new places, exploring his community, and getting to know the area he now calls home. One of Cory’s favorite places to visit is his local library, where he enjoys spending time and exploring new things. Cory’s adventurous, optimistic personality helps him find joy in simple experiences, and he is always excited to discover something new. His ability to remain hopeful and open-minded through so many transitions is one of the qualities that makes Cory truly special.

Cory's wish for an electric bike would give him greater independence and a reliable way to get around as he works to build stability in his new community. Most potential jobs are about five miles from where he currently lives, making transportation a major barrier to finding and keeping work. With an electric bike, Cory would have a more dependable, safer way to get to work, helping him arrive on time and opening up more employment opportunities. It would also make his regular trips to the local library much easier, giving him a convenient way to use the computers, search for job openings, and keep working toward his goals.
