Central Missouri Foster Care & Adoption AssociationAakeyliah is an outgoing and social young woman who enjoys being around friends and making the most of the people and experiences in her life. She enjoys attending school, staying connected with her peers, and looking forward to activities that give her something exciting to work toward, especially the upcoming track season. She lives in a residential setting while participating in a transitional living program, where she is learning important skills to prepare for greater independence. Like many young women her age, Aakeyliah enjoys listening to music, staying busy, and expressing her own personality and style. As she continues working toward independence, Aakeyliah is building confidence, learning to advocate for herself, and looking forward to the many possibilities ahead.
An iPad would be a meaningful gift for Aakeyliah as she continues working toward independence and preparing for her future. Her own device would give her a reliable tool for completing schoolwork, staying organized, reading, learning new skills, and exploring interests that matter to her. It would also allow her to take more responsibility for managing age-appropriate tasks and keeping up with the demands of school and her transitional living program. An iPad could help Aakeyliah build confidence as she learns to manage her time, stay connected, and use technology productively. It would provide opportunities for both education and personal growth while giving her a sense of ownership and independence. Most importantly, this gift would support Aakeyliah as she builds the skills and confidence she needs to take the next steps toward a successful, independent future.
