Texans TogetherMalaysia has been involved in the foster care system for many years now. In the last few weeks, she has faced a series of sad events including a placement change to a new group home on top of the death of her sister who she dearly loved. Malaysia is a young teen but diagnosed with an intellectual learning disability and struggling to adjust to these traumatic events in her life.
Malaysia is carrying a heavy loss after the death of her sister, and hope has been hard to find. Even so, she is willing to open herself to new experiences in search of joy, and she thought a manicure might bring her a little happiness. It would be a quiet hour of relaxation and care, a break from the weight she has been carrying. Walking out with freshly done nails could help her feel a little more like herself and remind her that good moments still exist.
