A full-size comforter for Gabriel to create a cozy space of his own after years of moving between homes
Gabriel, 19 years old, VA | 13 DAYS WAITING |

The Friends of Foster CareGabriel spent much of his teen years in foster care and aged out determined to build a future of his own. Now, he balances community college classes with working nights as a security guard while pursuing his dream of becoming an EMT. Despite managing rent, school, and certification expenses on his own, Gabriel remains kindhearted and always willing to help others. After years of looking out for everyone around him, he deserves the same support and encouragement as he works toward a career helping people in their most difficult moments.
Gabriel spends his days studying for his EMT certification and his nights guarding other people’s property, so the few hours he has to sleep matter more than most. A warm, soft comforter would turn his small bed into the cozy place of rest he has rarely had, something to pull around himself after a long, cold night shift. He has spent years sleeping under thin blankets in rooms that were never really his, and a comforter chosen for him would say something he may not hear often: that his comfort matters, and that he deserves to feel safe and cared for at the end of the day.
