Troy came into foster care shortly after his grandfather, who had been raising him, passed away from a terminal illness. He's had to navigate a lot on his own, since his father is incarcerated and he was removed from his mother years ago due to her substance abuse and neglect. Despite the upheaval, Troy is determined to build a normal life and hopes to join the military after he graduates next year. He's hurting right now, but he's holding on tightly to his goals for the future.

Troy loves building with Legos and especially loves Nike Air Force 1 sneakers. When he discovered the Nike LEGO set, he immediately knew he'd love it for his birthday. This birthday will be Troy’s first spent away from his family, but he is doing well in his current placement and is surrounded by people who care about him. He is also working hard to catch up in school and make progress toward his goals. Receiving the Nike Lego set would bring Troy excitement and joy on his special day and remind him that, even during times of change, he is loved, supported, and celebrated.
