The Friends of Foster Care

Juniper is a thoughtful, gentle, and quietly funny young woman who has spent much of her life in foster care and is currently in residential treatment, working through years of instability and loss. Art has always been a meaningful way for her to express emotions that are difficult to put into words. Despite the challenges she has faced, Juniper continues to work toward healing and dreams of becoming an art therapist so she can help other young people express themselves through creativity.

Juniper has learned that the quietest moments can be the most healing, and a puzzle book would give her plenty of them. Word searches, crosswords, and number puzzles offer a gentle focus, letting her mind settle on one small, solvable challenge at a time. Each completed page is a little victory she can see and be proud of, a reminder that she can start something hard and finish it. In a place where her days are filled with deep, important healing work, a puzzle book gives her a calm, screen-free way to unwind between sessions, in the evenings, or whenever her thoughts feel too loud. It would also be a fun way to connect with peers and staff who love to help with a tricky clue.
