Naomi has beaded bracelets for almost everyone she has ever met. Each time Naomi has been placed in a new home since entering foster care, she has made a bracelet to leave behind, a small piece of herself, so she would never be completely forgotten. She is a warm, curious, and chatty girl who can make a new friend in the lunch line and who always has an extra hair tie in her backpack for anyone who needs one. Naomi lives in a foster home, does her best at school, and is learning that it is okay to unpack all the way. She dreams of owning a little shop someday, where she sells handmade jewelry and gives a bracelet to every kid who walks in feeling alone.

Naomi is always on the move, from the school hallway to gym class to the walk home with her friends, usually with a bracelet she’s halfway through braiding in her hands. A pack of soft, cushioned Nike socks would keep her feet comfortable through it all. Good socks might sound small, but they make a big difference, especially for a girl who has often made do with whatever was handed down to her.
