San Diego Youth ServicesJames is a young adult living in a supportive transitional housing program after his foster care journey. He remains closely connected with his wonderful foster family as he continues to grow and learn how to live independently. James loves movies and going to the beach, and he is also an active member of a Youth Action Board.
James is working hard to stay stable while navigating an unexpected, stressful change in his circumstances. He works at a group home, but after a recent safety-related incident, he has had to reduce his hours to prioritize his well-being. With fewer hours and reduced income, keeping up with everyday expenses has become increasingly difficult, especially with rising gas prices. James is actively applying for full-time employment opportunities to regain financial stability, meet his basic needs, and get back on his feet. He is motivated to move forward and is doing what he can to improve his situation, but the pressure of making ends meet has been overwhelming. In the meantime, a few tanks of gas would provide so much relief during this challenging period. It would help James cover transportation to work, job interviews, and other essential appointments without worrying as much about how he will fill his tank. This support would ease some of the financial stress he is experiencing and allow him to focus on finding stable, full-time employment.
