Daniela immigrated to the U.S. from Romania at age 9 due to her biological parents' inability to care for her and her siblings. After entering the foster care system, she was adopted by a New Jersey family, along with another Romanian child. Despite being intelligent and learning English quickly, Daniela struggled to adjust and has since lived with two more families. She is currently recommended for residential treatment before potentially being reunified with a family interested in adopting her. Daniela enjoys visiting her resource parents and is eager to learn new coping skills. She hopes to attend college and become a veterinarian to help animals.

Daniela has trouble falling asleep, and she finds comfort in having night lights in her room. She is asking for a Glowmate, a soft, cuddly, glow-in-the-dark penguin plush that comes with a light pen. At bedtime, she could draw glowing designs on the plush and cuddle up with a gentle light beside her. It would turn the end of her day into a calm, creative ritual and give her a soft friend to hold on to as she drifts off to sleep.
