Bastian entered foster care after being found along with his 3 other siblings living in a 10 foot by 12 foot room that had no running water or electricity for over a year. The children were living in unsanitary and unsafe conditions, and their mother’s substance use was within their reach. Through the mother's hard work and the support of her team, Bastian and his siblings are now being placed back in her care. While this is an exciting new chapter for their family, they are rebuilding their home and have very few belongings, which poses many challenges. Because of all the recent changes in his life, he sometimes has to work hard to calm himself down when he experiences big emotions, especially at school. Bastian loves Ninja Turtles, art projects, anything creative, and spending time with his brothers and sisters.

Bastian is very excited to be back with his mother and siblings, and he is happy and thriving. His family is rebuilding their home with very few belongings, and after so many recent changes, his big feelings sometimes get the better of him. When his emotions run high, he calms down by playing with toys or working on art projects. His holiday wish is a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Play-Doh craft kit, a fun, hands-on way to shape his favorite characters and bring calm to his inner world. Squeezing, rolling, and creating would give him a joyful way to practice focus and attention, something he is working on at school.
