Zane entered foster care at a young age and has lived in a few homes and a group setting, where phones and screens are limited, and privacy is hard to come by. Music became his quiet refuge, the one thing no one could take away. He has spent years listening on borrowed devices and cheap earbuds, memorizing lyrics, and tapping out beats on his knees during class. At school, he is quiet and keeps his head down, partly because his clothes are mismatched and too small, and he’s been teased for them more than once. Zane is thoughtful, kind, and very funny. He wants to finish high school and find a career in music, whether that means working in a studio or learning to produce.

Zane’s love of music has no off switch, but without a phone of his own, he has had to rely on borrowed devices that are never around when he needs them. An MP3 player would give him a dependable way to carry his favorite songs everywhere, on the bus, in his room, or during a quiet moment at school. It would help him relax, focus, and escape when things feel overwhelming.
