A laptop for a former foster youth who needs a computer for her school work

Posted Mar 7, 2017
Latoya, who is an amazing student both academically and as a student leader. She works really hard, Latoya participates in the Black Student Union, volunteers in a clinical psychology lab, and works part-time on-campus. She has made it through 2.5 years of college writing her papers on her phone and borrowing friends laptops when she can. She is incredibly hard working and super smart. Despite all her efforts, she carries more loan than any other student we have because a) she did not benefit from California's Chafee Grant or extended foster funds and b) we did not know about her on our campus until just this year. Receiving help purchasing a computer will help Latoya tremendously.

Latoya is 28 years old and lives in CA

Latoya is a hard worker who enjoys helping others. She is always willing to listen to her peers when they are in need of advice and guidance. She is on the board of the Black student Union at her university. Latoya is also very involved in the black community on campus. She enjoys volunteering and is committed to service .
