Gift card for Matt to enjoy a spring break visit with his brother

Posted Mar 13, 2017
After being separated from his brother with Autism, Matt has not been allowed to see him (due to his placement in an out of state facility) However, that is about to change. Matt's current foster dad is taking the boys on a trip over their spring break and has an awesome trip planned for them - The beach, Disney and even an opportunity to swim with Manatees! This trip has been years in planning and the family is really looking forward it. What Matt doesn't know is Foster Dad, is arranging Matt to visit with his brother. The facility his brother is in, is close by to a local small zoo. We would like a prepaid Visa Gift Card for Matt to be able to spend some time there with his brother and enjoy their visit - Grab an ice cream and maybe even a small gift them. This visit will mean the WORLD to Matt!

Matthew is 24 years old and lives in WV

Matt is currently living in a foster home, separated from his brothers. Matt has been in foster care for about 8 years and, with continued movements from placement to placement to shelters and then back to placements, he has endured a ton of instability. He was placed at his current home 3 years ago - and wow - Matt is no longer the kid with anger issues, resentment and major outbursts. Not being able to see his siblings has had a negative impact on Matt. He wants to be with his brothers, but one was adopted and will not allow visits while his other brother has Autism and is in a facility out of state. Although Matt's workers have promised multiple times to arrange visits, it has not happened. Because of this, Matt has a hard time trusting and building relationships with people out of fear of being let down. Matt has became active in sports - football, wrestling and track - and it has taught Matt how to control himself as well as provided him an outlet for his anger. Matt is a joy and delight to be around and is doing very well in school. He is excited to be taking Masonry next semester because he really wants to learn to build.
