Computer voice recognition software Jason, a foster youth with mobility issues

Posted Mar 20, 2017
Jason has mobility issue due to quadriplegia. Voice recognition software allows him to use his computer to participate independently in a range of activities including placing and answering cell phone calls, sending text messages, playing video games, accessing movies, and navigating the internet. An updated version of Dragon Naturally Speaking voice recognition software will grant him extra autonomy, something critically important for a young man who must reluctantly rely on caregivers for 24 hour care.

Jason is 27 years old and lives in TX

Jason is a fun loving young man in extended foster care who enjoys hanging out with friends, outings to the movies and restaurants and video games. He was seriously injured after he was hit by a car while riding his bike when he was 13 and he requires 24 hour nursing care as he is quadriplegic and on a ventilator, but his mobility issues don't slow him down. His foster father negotiated contractual requirements with him regarding the speed and manner of his operating his wheelchair.
