6 weeks of camp at a YMCA for Jahara

Jahara is excited about attending camp a local YMCA offering an outdoor summer camp! She loves the outdoors and is constantly renting books from the library to learn more bout it! Jahara grew up in an urban area and didn’t have the chance to explore the outdoors, which is why she’s so interested now. She would get to experience the traditional camp activities of swimming, boating, sports & games, along with rock climbing, all day hiking adventures, kayaking, and low ropes course. Jahara will be given the chance to make new, positive memories she can carry forever.
Jahara is 20 years old and lives in NJ
Jahara is a 14-year-old teenager who loves working out, being outdoors, and wants to go to school for marine biology someday! She entered foster care at 8 and has been bounced between quite a few homes before being placed in a therapeutic environment. It took her a while to open up given the nature of her trauma, but is now making strides in her healing process! Jahara has been living in one of our agency’s professional parent homes for about 8 months and is working through her trauma from being abused and neglected.
