Mikisha was accepted into the 2018 Foster Youth Internship Program in Washington, D.C. This is a highly esteemed, life-changing youth empowerment program for young adults who have spent their formative years in foster care, offering them the opportunity to intern in a Congressional office for the summer. CCAI provides full service, wrap-around care throughout the internship. However, Mikisha will need the essential housing supplies such as bedding, toiletries, a dining set, cooking supplies, and Tupperware to name a few.
Mikisha is 38 years old and lives in MI
Mikisha was in the foster care system in the state of California and is currently a graduate student at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, where she is pursuing her masters in Social Work with a focus in Community Organizing, Children and Youth in Families and Society, Child Welfare, and Policy Evaluation. Her prior experience with the Children'a Law Center in California has provided her with a deep understanding that will be vital in the Foster Youth Internship (FYI) Program.
