Therapeutic Interagency ProgramFoster kids are kids, period. And they just want to have the same freedom and joy as their peers. Each year thousands of kids enter foster care in Ohio, separated from their friends, families, neighborhoods and most of what is familiar to them. It can be difficult, but One Simple Wish strives to make the transition a little easier so kids can enjoy childhood and make happy memories!
TIP serves over 60 children age 0-5 every day in our early childhood program. All of these children have a history of abuse and neglect, and the majority do not live with their biological parents. Due to their early childhood histories, many of these children have to learn empathy, how to take care of others and how to be nurturing. It does not come naturally for many young children who never had anyone care for them while they were young. It is so nice to teach a young child how to care for others by using baby dolls, and watching the attachment that they develop as they want to care for their doll is amazing.
