Brian was accepted into the University of Cincinnati's Opera Boot Camp for the summer of 2019. This is a highly competitive program that teaches students how to conduct and stage opera performances, under the tutelage of renowned professor and conductor, Mark Gibson. Brian is passionate about opera and is interested in going to the University of Cincinnati for graduate school in orchestral conducting. Completion of this summer Boot Camp would benefit Brian in the short-term, in terms of the skills and techniques that he could apply when conducting opera's as an undergraduate student, but also in the long-term, as completion of this program would strengthen his chances to be accepted into graduate school for orchestral conducting, which is a very competitive discipline. The total cost of the summer Boot Camp is $2,800, and Brian has already secured $1,100 in funding towards this cost.
