Rayla is an amazing child. She had some significant problems six months ago, but she has made major improvements in her behavior. In the past, she would kick and slap children and adults but has not done so in the past several months. It was especially difficult for Rayla because she has a developmental disability and has difficulty remembering and processing her coping skills. She was recently called retarded at her school and Rayla talked to her teacher as opposed to slapping the child. It is difficult for any child to be called retarded, but it is amazing to have self-control in such difficult situations. Rayla loves her current foster home. The foster parent will have guardianship over her in June and Rayla can hardly wait. She is thrilled to have permanency in the home. Rayla knows the exact number of days until guardianship.
