A Gas card to help Dorothy get to and from work

Posted May 9, 2019
When I asked Dorothy is there is anything she needed or wanted for me to wish for her, the only thing she asked for was a gift card to go back and forth to work where she provides respite services to young people with special needs. She is always thinking of others and this would really help to make things just a little easier for her. She doesn't have any family to chip in for her, and she is just old enough to no longer qualify for most services for former foster youth, so I'm thankful for the opportunity to request this for her.

Dorothy is 29 years old and lives in AZ

Dorothy is such an amazing and inspirational young woman. Since aging out of foster care, she has been volunteering with various organizations and using her experiences to make changes to the system that will impact others for generations. She has been an incredible advocate in several states across the nation, and currently lives in Arizona where she provides respite services for special needs youth.

"Thank you so much for helping Dorothy with a gift card for gas. She works so hard and being able to help her with the little things is such a pleasure. Older former foster youth do not typically have many supports, and I'm thankful you have chosen to be a part of her village. "
