A Laptop for Kathy who is taking summer classes to stay on track

Kathy has never enjoyed school until recently when she was enrolled into a new school district that she feels is more supportive and cares about her success. Since attending the new school, she looks forward to going and is motivated to do well and complete her work. She graduated from her IEP to a 504 plan and is voluntarily taking summer classes to earn the credits she needs to be a junior in the upcoming school year. She also wants to start taking college credit courses next school year and wants to attend college in the future to become a botanist. She would love her own laptop that she does not have to share with others so that she can easily complete her schoolwork and do research.
Kathy is 22 years old and lives in OH
Kathy is a very warm, sweet natured, and caring young lady who loves cooking, exploring the outdoors, and has recently discovered her love for school. In the past, she has struggled with academics and never felt supported. Since being moved to her current placement and enrolled in a new school, she has started to excel and is highly motivated. Although she is not the caretaker of her siblings, she enjoys spending time with her younger biological brothers and foster siblings. She is very nurturing and playful. Kathy came into foster care 5 years ago after being removed from a situation of severe neglect and poverty. She was responsible for much of the care of her brothers. After 4 years in the same foster home, she was moved to her current placement around 6 months ago and she is hoping this will be her forever family. Kathy is adjusting well and recently enjoyed her first father-daughter dance with her foster father. She loves the new traditions she is experiencing with her foster family.
