Summer Camp Fun for Maya who has never been to camp before

Posted Jul 23, 2019
Maya is a bubbly, sweet young girl who said she would “LOVE IT SO MUCH” to go to camp. She has never attended summer camp due to family financial constraints but says she wants to go “so so so much.” Camp directors offered her a 50% scholarship discount on the price of the camp. They also offered to augment Maya's time at camp with extra reading time built into her day to support her school goals with improving her reading. The camp would include daily activity and fun from 9am-4pm, as well as 2 t-shirts and 2-3 field trips and breakfast and lunch. Camp activities include arts and crafts, games, sports, meals, reading and teamwork.

Maya is 15 years old and lives in CT

Maya loves reading, crafts, sports and friends. She is a bubbly, sweet young girl who loves to have fun and experience awesome adventures!

Nikki sent an update on the wish for Maya.

"Wish had to be updated as Maya was unable to attend camp due to paperwork issues; she instead was able to purchase winter and holiday essentials at Target. Her CASA volunteer took her shopping at the store, and as they left the store Maya told her CASA “This is the best day of my life.” Thank you for making this happen and bringing this child a Christmas she would not have otherwise experienced!"
