Elda is an amazing, fun-loving, sports enthusiast! Despite all the many uncertainties in her life, she has settled easily into 2 different foster homes since she was removed from her parent's care over 22 months ago, and never lost her joy. She has many, many friends because of her inclusive nature, and adults fall in love with her minutes after meeting her. She's charmed both her foster families, her foster siblings, her CASA, her lawyer, her therapist, her social worker, her teachers, and her Jiu Jitsu instructor! She struggles with weight issues, speech delays and language confusion, which is why sports have proven to be the most beneficial of extra-curricular activities.

Elda loves sports, and for the past year her foster mom has enrolled her in Jiu Jitsu. The exercise, discipline, simple moves and mental focus these lessons provide have been key to both her weight issues and learning issues. She's exhausted the funding available to her for this activity from a local non-profit, and with a move to an adoptive home tentatively planned for early 2020, its imperative for her to continue with the activity until the end of the year.
