After aging out of the foster system, Maritza struggled quite a bit, but has finally been able to secure her very first apartment. A Sense of Home is helping her furnish her entire home, but she still needs a fridge. The lack of a fridge is causing her significant hardship with respect to meal planning and providing healthy meals for her family. A basic fridge will enable Maritza to purchase and store fresh food - helping her overcome the challenge of living without an essential home appliance.

Maritza is a young single mom of 4 little ones under the age of 5! After being challenged by moving through several foster parents, she was able to secure transitional housing for the past 2 years and has worked so hard on herself to move forward and provide for her children. Her hard work finally paid off, Maritza just moved in to her first very own apartment. Against all odds and all chances for failure, Maritza has stayed focused on raising her four children - she dreams, and is currently working toward, obtaining a college degree in criminal justice.
